Another great movie review from Owen Enterprises(tm). I thought the content of Harry Potter was the best of all the films so far and the acting is getting better although still pretty poor. I give it a 3/5.
What do you think of the new 'full screen' forum setup? I think I may get rid of the background to make it easier to read the posts.
When is everyone back for christmas? |

http://www.fasco-csc.com/ - In my unwavering efforts to avoid doing work I discovered this site, check out these games! They're basically broken sword style flash games - I finished 'the crimson room' but I am well stuck on the Viridian room, grrrrr!

Hey Folks - its time for another film review!
Tonights film - Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire....
Now it's been a while since i read the book; so tonight i didn't jump on the "Oh, my God! They haven't quoted every single line correctly!" band wagon. Yes, the directors have taken some artistic license and got rid of one or two minor characters (aparantly), and yes some of those wise-crack jokes aren't the book either, but ask yourself - does it really matter?!
Anyway, on with the review - the good bits; excellent special effects (love the dragons), very good adaptations of the characters (especially Mad Eye Moody) and well - it will make you laugh from time to time (takes you back to your school days)!
Bad bits; Dumbledore's Accent - are you english or american - MAKE UP YOUR DAMN MIND MAN!!! Acting is a little wooden in places (but what do you expect, they're just kids) and finally - it's not as scary as the book (it can be a lot more terrifying in your imagination).
Overall, a very good effort, a little dissapointing, but a 1st for effort.
Watch the film for fun, but read the book for the serious action!!! |

Hey Andy - just started playin Soul Calibur III. Its quite cool, not bad for the 3rd game - the different modes are quite original. What is REALLY cool is that Siegfried and Nightmare are seperate characters (where as they used to be the same one)! This means the story mode has a better plot - Siegfried's the main hero of the game! And he damn well kicks ass! |

A potential - "quote of the month" : "Personally, I think hangovers are all in the head!" Soz, my drama mate just rang me to tell me that and i packed up! |

Lol. I couldn't agree more with both of your reviews Owen. Unfortunately I went to see the brothers grimm last week and I can safely say it was the worst film I've seen this year.
I can't really go on the ski trip I'm afraid as I'm working over christmas. Sorry Guys . |

However.....
Tonight - I have witnessed an atrocity! The biggest pile of SHITE ever to curse us with it's presence (you can tell this is gonna be an un-bias review cant you lol). I beg you, I plead with you, I IMPLORE you - DO NOT watch the Brother Grimm Movie!!!
Personally, I love the Grimm Fairy Tales; so imagine my dismay with they were stripped of all dignity and mushed together into a porridge like mess that was this film! The basic plot is the 2 two fraudsters (Brother Grimm) come face to rotting face with the Evil Queen (from Snow White) who needs to steal the youth from 12 girls to regain her own youth. The Brothers Grimm set out to stop her and her henchmen (The Big Bad Wolf and the Ginger Bread man to name but a few). The film had such potential, but due to a bad script, a crap choice of actors and TERRIBLE acting (it's MATT DAMON for F*CKS SAKE!!!) this film should have ended up on the cutting room floor (all of it - then burned, then bury the ashes!)
My view - save ur money - buy some booze, and wait for Harry Potter, Narnia and King Kong to save your christmas!!!
Why didnt Tim Burton make Brothers Grimm? Why?!

Tonight on Owen's Movie Review
1. Corpse Bride - A welcome return to our favourite director Tim Burton. Once more we are plunged into the director dark world for more undead musical fun!
Though a little stiffer than its predecessor "Nightmare...." we see some good performances from the LEGEND that is Johnny Depp and the some good acting from Helena Bonham Carter. Though the Songs feel weak and very forced, the story itself is strong and intriguing! Definately watch it for the experience; a good 2nd place from "Nightmare..." |

Come on guys, you know ski trip's a good idea, especially with me driving, mwah haha! explosions in the sky and fourtet were amazing, you all suck for missing it but you can make up for it... by coming on the ski trip! |

Post by: Marsh |
Yo losers, anybody up for a ski trip at christmas? Reckon cost probably about £350 for accommodation, lift pass, board & boot rental, ferry to St.Malo and petrol for the trip down to the alps - that's on four people sharing a room, so it depends who wants to go as to the exact price. |

Sorry to hear that Owen, that really sucks. You still have to come up and visit me and Evey in Bath sometime. I've just spent all my free time over the last two days watching the first series of 24. Its really good although the ending was a bit unsatisfying. |

I wasn't a huge fan of Saw to be honest, it seemed to replace suspense with gore. It was Ok for the fucked up ideas, but the ending sucked - It was a warning to doctors, don't piss off your patients! (especially if they're psychos!) |
|   |
Post by: Owen |
Saw 1 was much more tense, but Saw 2 is gorier - on the whole, i thought Saw 1 was scarier - we saw it at my mates house on a projector on the wall (like a cinema in his room!) But go see Saw 2 anyway, it's still a good film! |
|   |
Post by: Oli |
Is Saw 2 as good as saw owen? I thought Saw was really good but you have to see it in the cinema for it to be really scary... |
|   |
Post by: Owen |
Just watched a "Saw" and "Saw 2" double for my mates 20th - then another mate crept up behind my in a pitch black corrider and made me fill me tighty-withies with brown treacle! I beat the living crap outta him afterwards! They were such good films though! Well, i'm of ta bed! G'night....wait what was that noise? |
